Vulcan Elite JP is the premier model of the brand new Vulcan series. Under this, there are also Vulcan Deluxe, an intermediate, and Vulcan X, a basic model of the line. Vulcan Series emerged as a result of Vertigo shape`s updating and the decision of Fernandes management to keep the old Vertigo alongside the new shape which was renamed to Vulcan. Vulcan Elite JP is a solid, double cutaway model with a body made of alder. The top of the body is heavily contoured and freed of binding and pickguards. One of the most interesting features on this Elite JP model is the selection of colors. Chameleon green and chameleon purple with glossy finishes change as the angle under which the guitar is viewed change. The bridge is a Gotoh made licensed Floyd Rose Tremolo with black chrome plating and a locking nut. In the pickup department, there is EMG81 active humbucker in the bridge and Fernandes Sustainer in the neck position. controls are basically the same as on Deluxe and X models with the addition of Sustainer On/Off and mode mini switches. The neck is made of maple and attached to the body via the set-in joint. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and features 24 jumbo frets with split trapezoid position inlays, 14" radius and 1.625" wide nut. 25-1/2" scale, Gotoh die-cast tuners and black chrome hardware complete the specs for Vulcan Elite JP.
