Fret King is a label led by a guitar-building legend, Trev Wilkinson, and is certainly one of the top British manufacturers. In the never ending quest for the ultimate guitar, Fret King created three lines, Blue, Green and Stvdio of their guitars. But, 2012 saw the arrival of Black Label series with lean, mean and down to business models. Black Label DBC Eclat is Dave Bucket Colwel`s signature model and it comes with a solid, single cutaway body made of mahogany. Bare bones and no frills is the philosophy here, so the there is no fancy top wood, or binding, only a black pickguard. Black and sunburst are color options for DBC Eclat. The bridge is a wrap-around style stopbar with chrome plating. In the pickup area, there is only one Wilkinson P-90 pickup in the bridge position. Controls for it are simple and consist of volume and tone knob. The neck is made of mahogany and equipped with a rosewood fingerboard. Upon the fingerboard, there are 22 medium jumbo sized frets, dot position inlays and graphite nut. Add 24-3/4" scale, 12" fingerboard radius and Wilkinson tuners, and the specs list for this no-nonsense rocker are complete. The MSRP is set at around $950.
