20th Anniversary series from Gibson Custom is a super elegant and super luxurious line of the anniversary electric guitars. Since 1993, Gibson Custom is in charge of the luxurious and special models with Gibson badge. Today, Gibson Custom celebrates 20 years in business with a line of super exclusive guitars. 20th Anniversary 1965 Firebird Reissue is one the models introduced into the series. It comes with a solid, classic Firebird body and neck-through-body construction. Mahogany is used for the body wings, which are attached to the Walnut/mahogany neck. Center of the neck is made of maple spline. Body features flat-top design and it is decorated with a standard plastic pickguard. There is no binding, nor Gibson Custom installs a top cover. Bridge section on this one is a vintage-styled three-piece made up of ABR-1 bridge in the front, Maestro Vibrato bar and the trapezoid tailpiece. Entire bridge section is, as well as the rest of the hardware, plated in gold. Golden Mist Poly is the only color scheme available for this six-string beauty and it is finished in nitrocellulose lacquer. Pickups on this fantastic Firebird are installed in H/H/H pattern. All three are minibuckers and Gibson Custom installs the standard controls unit with them. Two volume knobs, two tone knobs and three-way toggle pickup switch comprise it. Neck is made of mahogany and walnut laminates and features maple spline. Period correct back contour is featured on this outstanding neck. It is topped with a 22-fret fingerboard made of ebony (ebony is being revived for the 20th anniversary series and is probably the last time it will be used in Gibson Custom catalog). Fingerboard features standard-sized frets, pearl block inlays and 1-11/16" wide nylon string nut. Banjo tuners with gold plating are featured on the reversed headstock. Gibson Custom sets the MSRP for this model at $9,411.
