Les Pauls of today are mainly made with flamed and quilt maple tops, but Gibson Custom decided to put a little spin on that with this LP Custom with plain maple top. Now, some might think that Gibson Custom is going against the tradition, but it`s the plain maple top that was used on Les Pauls in early years. On this model it`s carved, bound in creme binding and topped with a black plastic pickguard. It`s backed with mahogany base, which features glossy brown finish. Tune-o-matic/stoptail bar combo does a flawless job, regarding the tuning stability and 490R/498T pickup combo is installed in it`s front. Set mahogany neck is equipped with the contemporary C contour in the back and it`s topped with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard.
