Gibson USA`s 2018 catalog features only two Firebird models, the Studio and the Standard (named just Firebird). The standard model costs $1,759 and follows in the footsteps of its predecessors, establishing the Firebird as a true blues/rock/hard rock workhorse axe.
Firebird 2018 starts off with the classic "reverse" Firebird body, neck-through-body construction, fast neck contour, Gibson hardware & electronics, and simple styling. Surprisingly, Ebony is offered as the model`s only color option. It features gloss finish, chrome-plated hardware, and white Firebird pickguard.
Main construction features of the new `bird include solid mahogany body wings, through-body mahogany neck (slim taper profile), 22-fret rosewood fingerboard (24.75" scale, 1.695" nut), two-piece TOM/stoptail bridge unit, Gibson minibucker pickups, and Mini Grover tuning machines.
