This LP is far from a standard model and is full of special features. It all starts with the body top, which is carved to resemble snake skin. With gloss finish over it, it looks scary real. So, players afraid of snakes, stay away. Body of this model is made of mahogany back and maple top. Creme binding and gloss lacquer complete the body. This snake skin LP comes in Worn Ebony color scheme. Mahogany neck is set in and equipped with a classic '50s rounded contour in the back. It is topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on top. BFG features a tremolo bridge, which is another unusual Les Paul feature. Zebra-coiled humbucker in the bridge is paired with a standard Gibson P-90 single-coil pickup.

As the owner of five Les Paul guitars already, ( 3 Gibson, 2 Epiphones ), I really did not need another; these instruments that will surely outlive me, and why dish out well over one thousand dollars...but this BFG has a tremalo system! THAT was my reason - so when Gibson sent it's email with a picture of the BFG Trem, I immediately wanted it. I put in the order as soon as I could and waited over three months for it. Oh - well worth it, it is a beut ! It is a Les Paul in the rough - and the electronics, ( kill switch, P-90, Burstbucker pickups ), it was heaven - and let's not forget the Schaller trem ! Sure, it's a trip to keep in tune - but I purchased a clip-on tuner ( a-ha ! ) and now I am in Guitar Heaven ! It plays like a dream - since it is a worn ebony, ( little varnish ), it is most comfortable. The reptilian/black body gives it a monsterous personality, and most importatn - the sound : pure POWER ! So it was $1200 well spent ! Thanks Gibson !
