Juniors have a long and rich history in Gibson`s catalog. Introduced back in mid 1950s to counter Fender`s affordable Telecaster and Stratocaster models, it quickly became the catalog staple. Juniors are produced still today and have experienced both ups and downs throughout the years. This current Jr follows the original recipe. It comes with a solid, single-cut body made of mahogany. There is no top wood on a Junior. Pelham Blue, TV Yellow and Tobacco Sunburst comprise the color palette for this model. Bridge section is a classic one, it only has a wrap around stop bar which is plated in chrome. Traditionally, the pickups compartment features only one P-90 single coil installed in the bridge section. Set in mahogany neck is topped with a 33-fret rosewood fingerboard.
