The versatile Les Paul Studio was first introduced back in the 1980s in an attempt to widen Les Paul`s target audience. The model was an instant success and it became a permanent fixture in Gibson`s catalog rather quickly. It`s strongest points were (and still are) the tone, playability, and build quality of a Standard, but without the fancy looks. 2018 lineup, among other LP models, brings a limited edition Les Paul Studio Elite. Interestingly, Gibson opted for a Bigsby bridge over their traditional TOM/Stoptail unit with this one. Silver Burst (w/gloss finish, black plastics, bound fingerboard) is the only available color option. Other features include a solid mahogany/maple body, a slim taper-shaped mahogany neck, a 22-fret fingerboard made of rosewood, popular Classic 57 pickups, and Kidney Bean tuners.
