Icon series has been advertised upon it`s release as the first line of electric guitars with set in necks in Godin catalog. The move from the bolted necks to set ones has brought more stability and sustain to the Icon series. Icon Type 2 Classic is a slightly vintage-styled guitar with single-cutaway design and carved top construction. Body is made of mahogany back and mahogany top. Top is carved and features Spartan styling. Excessive decorations have been scratched from the specs list, in order to focus this model on performance. Classic two-piece bridge unit is plated in chrome and fronted by a combined pair of Godin and Seymour Duncan humbuckers. HDR switch allows the player to skip between passive and active modes. Mahogany neck is set in and topped with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard.
