XTSA is one of the most versatile guitars to ever wear a Godin badge. It could be considered a more electric and synth-inclined relative of the legendary Multiac. In Godin`s own words, XTSA is a jack of all trades and a master of them all. Brave and bold words, no doubt. But, let`s see how those words hold up.
For starters, XTSA has a semi-hollow body made of silver leaf maple center and poplar wings. Flamed maple cap is on the top. It is paired with a mahogany neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on top. Quality of build and ergonomics seem to be on par with Godin`s reputation, so no problem there.
Electronics section is where Godin goes all in and stuffs XTSA with a set of conventional passive pickups (HSH configuration), under-saddle acoustic pickups with a preamp mounted at the upper bout and a synth system with a 13-pin connector. The end result is quite impressive though XTSA can not outshine the entire spectrum of instruments it is supposed to replace and imitate.
