CT Club Semi-Hollow is a single-cut guitar with semi-hollow construction and vintage-styled design. It sports the classic Les Paul-like design and vintage hardware. Electronics and controls unit is the same as it was on 1950s and 1960s Hofners. Pickups installed on this model are active minibuckers. They`re very versatile and can blend the tone of this CT Club axe with almost every groove. Behind them, there`s a two-piece bridge unit, which consists of a tune-o-matic bridge and a trapezoid tailpiece. Both parts of the bridge, as well as the rest of the hardware, are plated in chrome. Body of CT Club Semi-Hollow is made of maple back and sides and arched spruce sound board on top. Set in maple neck has a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on it`s top.

8 out of 10 on features only because a master volume would have completed the controls perfectly, in my opinion. This guitar can produce muffled tones and all the way to glass like clarity with the volume, pickup selector and tone switches. I personally like this guitar as much or better than anything else I've ever played and I've used and owned a good number. A qualifier is that it is more of a chorder with some lead capability use, but not a smoker sizzler lead axe. It's remarkable lightness of just over 6lbs. is like no other I know of and it is also a remarkable kind of beautiful, fit, finish, looks, etc. For me a must have that I stumbled onto. It's a REAL keeper for me. Awesome--beauty Nothing like it?? Nothing lse like it?
I owned an origional one of these upto about 40 years ago, the CT model is far heavier than the origional, but better suited to todays modern player. This is solely down to the wooden block under the top, it adds the extra weight and stops feedback. Eliminating the feedback problem, and adding minibuckers over the origional single coil pickups has made what may well turn out to be a classic Hofner for the future collector, time will tell. It weighs in at about the same as a Les Paul Florentine and the neck is fairly comparable, overall a nice guitar and I am glad it is in my collection.
