Ibanez FRM150

With the Fireman series, king of alternate picking, Paul Gilbert proves that flashy styling and superior playability can, actually, go hand in hand. Based on the legendary Iceman, one of the first original Ibanez designs (it`s longer horn is flipped from treble to the bass side of the body), Fireman series leaves no one indifferent. The new FRM150 (NAMM 2015 model) kicks off with a solid and flat-top mahogany body carved in the classic reversed Iceman (Fireman) shape and a set-in mahogany/maple neck. On it`s top, a rather conservative bridge unit is installed. It features the Tight Tune bridge in the front and a Tight Tune tailpiece in the back (Ibanez`s version of the legendary tune-o-matic/stoptail bar combo). In front of it, a set of three slanted DiMarzio pickups is installed in the pretty common (at least for Ibanez catalog) H/S/H pattern. All three are slanted and the bridge and neck pickups feature opposite zebra design (outer coils are white, while the ones on the inside are black). Master volume, master tone (tone control is functional only in positions 3, 4 and 5) and a five-position pickup selector comprise the controls. Mahogany/maple neck has the standard Fireman profile and is topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays.
