RG has been the cornerstone series of Ibanez catalog for over thirty years now. Countless models under RG (Road Gear) banner have shaped the face of rock and metal music over the past three decades. It was RG series which popularized the original Edge tremolo system, the only serious alternative to Schaller and Kahler bridges. Also, it was RG`s Wizard neck which set the standards for shred guitars. Seven, eight and nine-string guitars were first incorporated as standard models into the RG range. At 2016 NAMM, RG range has received five new models and RG652MPBFX is one of them. RG652MPBFX belongs to the luxurious RG Prestige line. It features standard bolt-on construction, 25-1/2: scale and passive electronics. Mahogany back and beautiful poplar burl top compose the body. Five-piece maple/walnut neck sports the Super Wizard HP profile in the back and a 24-fret maple fingerboard on top (1.69" nut, 16.90" radius, black dot inlays). DiMarzio`s Tone Zone in bridge position and Air Norton in the neck provide world class metal tone. Master volume, master tone and a five-piece pickup selector make up the controls. Standard Gibraltar bridge with string-through construction and Gotoh tuners complete the specs list.
