With a simple name and simple construction, RG9 offers an affordable nine-string option for all the players who can not afford the RG Prestige variants. The body of RG9 is solid, double-cut and made entirely of basswood (there is no binding around the top, nor it features a carved top. On the flat top, it features a set of passive Quantum pickups (ceramic magnets and a basic controls unit are used). Behind the pickups, Ibanez installs the famous second reincarnation of the classic Gibraltar bridge (it`s been modified to accommodate nine strings). The neck is made of maple and bubinga (three maple laminates and two bubinga stripes), and features the Wizard profile in the back, and a 24-fret rosewood on top. RG9 is expected to cost less than a $1,000.
