RGIR models in the recently established Iron Label domain is dedicated for the soldiers recruited among the RG models. Ones with RGIR label feature active electronics and traditionally simple design and construction. They`re made for metal, making no compromise on the ferocity of the tonal delivery. RGIR28FE is one of seven novelties introduced into the Iron Label range at 2014 NAMM show. It comes with a solid and double-cut RG body made of basswood and five-piece maple/walnut neck. Maple/walnut/maple/walnut/maple is the configuration of the neck pieces. Nitro Wizard contour is featured in the back. Bridge section is fit with a standard eight-saddled Gibraltar bridge, while the pickups combo rocks the mighty EMG 808 active humbuckers. Master volume, kill switch and three-position blade switch comprise the controls unit. Maple/walnut neck is topped with a series standard rosewood fingerboard with 24 jumbo-sized frets. Ibanez has assigned two color options for this model, White and Black. Both are finished in gloss and fit with black hardware.
