S series is one of the longest running Ibanez series, with over 25 years of continuous presence in the catalog. Over the time, Design and construction concepts of the S series haven`t fundamentally changed, keeping S series recognizable over the years and decades. Ibanez does, however, invest a great deal of effort in constant improvements of materials, hardware, tone and playability of S series models. For 2014, S Prestige, S series top segment, is being reinforced with several novelties. One the models introduced at 2014 NAMM is S5528LW. It is a solid and double-cut eight-stringer with 27" scale, bolt-on neck joint, passive electronics and standard 24-fret fingerboard. Body of this exceptional eight-stringer is made of mahogany base and limba top. It is finished in satin and bound in white. Hazelnut Ale Brown with gold-plated hardware is the only color scheme available for this model. S5528LW comes with an eight-saddled hardtail Gibraltar bridge with string-through-body construction. DiMarzio`s D Activator 8 humbuckers are installed in both the bridge and neck positions. Maple and wenge neck is made of five laminates and sports the classic Wizard contour int he back. It`s topped with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard.
