ST300 is an intermediate model from the Studio series made by Ibanez. This series is dedicated to the players who prefer discreet looks of their guitars or are in need of a versatile instrument for studio work. ST300 comes with a flat mahogany body with double cutaway and neck-through construction. There is no binding around the edges of the body, nor Ibanez installs a top wood cover. Also, there`s no pickguard. Two-piece bridge has a tune-o-matic bridge in the front and a stoptail bar in the back. Pickups are installed in H/H configuration. They`re passive, open-coil and controlled with separate volume and tone knobs. Mahogany neck sports a standard contour in the back and it`s topped with a 24-fret rosewoo fingerboard.

Smooth fret action and coil splitting humbuckers make this a very versatile guitar. It feels solid and weighs slightly less than a Les Paul Custom but delivers outstanding tones. I bought it used and didn't know what I had until years later. The guy who sold it to me was obviously clueless about this guitar. I play metal. It's not a typical guitar shape for metal but it delivers a punishing crunch when plugged straight into a Marshall JCM 800. I own other guitars now and this one remains my favorite!
