Steve Vai signature series contains two segments, JEM and UV. JEM is older and features six-stringed guitars with DiMarzio or Ibanez pickups, depending on the model. UV, on the other side offers seven-stringed guitars. They too have passive DiMarzio and Ibanez pickups, but don`t have the signature JEM "handle" above the pickups. Pickups on this one are installed in H/S/H configuration with a basic Ibanez electronics unit to control them. Bridge is an extended range Edge double-locking bridge with a locking nut installed on the fingerboard. Body of this model is made of basswood, it`s solid and double-cut. Body is paired with a maple neck with Wizard II contour in the back. This neck has a bolt-on joint and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard.
