JS32L Rhoads is the only Rhoads of four models introduced into the JS range for the summer of 2014. JS is, basically, a true intermediate range built mainly for younger players who steel need to sharpen their teeth and tight up their game. JS axes are fantastic companions for these earlier stages of development. The JS32 Rhoads comes with a solid and stable specs list packed into the most metal design of them all, the cropped Rhoads V. On the plus side, it has a 24-fret fingerboard, instead of the standard 22-fret fingerboard. Solid and flat body of this great six-stringer is made of basswood (the series standard and a compromise made to achieve good and stable tone and relatively light weight, while still managing to keep this axe in the middle price class). Ominous Satin Gray is the color of choice for the JS32 Rhoads and it comes with the traditionally black-clad hardware. Hardware section kicks off with a licensed Floyd Rose double-locking tremolo system. The fact that it`s made by Jackson and not purchased from a third party supplier guarantees a superior quality and the performance value very close to the original Schaller system. In it`s front, there are two passive Jackson JE10 humbuckers. Strong and very recognizable tone, abundant sustain, but a bit short on versatility. As all four JS models introduced this time, JS32L Rhoads feels best in hard rock and classic heavy metal waters. For something more extreme, a high gain pedal, or metal-oriented amp would be recommended. Standard set of controls includes a master volume, master tone and a three-position blade switch. These are well positioned and easy to manipulate while playing. One-piece maple neck is bolted to the body and rocks the fantastic Speed Neck contour in the back, allowing an easy access to the 24th fret. Rosewood fingerboard is bound in white and has jumbo frets marked with the upside-down shark fin inlays. Locking nut is 1-5/8" wide, while the radius ranges from the 12" at the nut to 16" at the 12th fret (this gives the players enough grip for the tight and heavy riffing, and enough space and support for blazing solos). The reversed headstock is fit with a pack of six black-clad tuning machines. They`re made by Jackson, like the rest of the hardware found on JS series guitars and basses.
