Striker 211 Custom is a model from the revived Striker series in Kramer Guitars catalog. Kramer Guitars were very popular back in the 1980s, when glam, thrash and shred movements ruled the scene. The coolest thing about these mighty axes of the '80s was that all of them loved Kramer`s guitars. Great tone, modern design, superb build quality and affordable prices were the strongest points Kramer had. In recent years, Gibson and Kramer are giving their best to restore the glory this brand once had and Striker 211 Custom is one of their main models. It has a solid and double-cut mahogany body, flamed maple top, Floyd Rose tremolo bridge, vintage open-coiled H/S/S pickups, standard controls unit, bolt-on maple neck, 24-fret maple fingerboard, die-cast tuners and 25-1/2" scale.

I picked up my Kramer Striker 211 Deluxe in the Fireburst finish from an individual several weeks ago and I already love it. The quality is a bit above average for an import and the factory setup was quite good. It plays very nicely and the wide neck makes it easier for the fat fingered among us. The maple fingerboard gives the guitar a rather bright tone that really cuts through the mix but can get a little twangy at times. I am planning on replacing the bridge humbucker with a Duncan SH-4 and a better quality tone cap to bring it back under control. All in all, I have been very pleased with my purchase. The only thing that I wish they had added to this guitar was the ability to coil-split the humbucker. I am not crying over the absence of it, but it would have been a nice feature that would not have added too much to the price. I have refined the factory setup a bit and adjusted the Floyd Rose to my liking. A couple of my guitar playing friends were quite impressed by it, so it should appeal to many. I would recommend this guitar to players of any skill level. A good professional setup should be done if you are a serious player, but even right out of the box it is not that bad. Kramer has a winner here.
