Athena series is a line of supremely elegant vintage guitars with single and double-cut bodies and active electronics. Both the single and double-cut models are based on Gibson`s legends (singles are based on the LP, while the double-cuts are based on ES models). Besides the regular six-stringers, Athena also has one twelve-stringer. It`s name is Athena 12-String and it comes with single-cut body made of maple. Back, sides and top are made of it. This 12-string axe is offered only in black with gloss finish and nickel-plated hardware. Classic two-piece bridge section is fronted with a set of two minibucker pickups with series standard controls unit. Set in neck is made of maple and it features the standard 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on it`s top.

Lordy...not sure who wrote the previous review but they missed out a couple of points. Beautiful it definately is.. so why oh why did they make it so badly? Unfortunately the bridge on mine collapsed straight away, it's made from very cheap and nasty materials. I only once braved taking it to a gig. I had to swap for another guitar as the sound guy couldn't even pick it up. Rubbish humbuckers, the strings get caught on the fret dividers, tone switch fell off as did the jack socket. Has 'MADE IN CHINA' slapped on the neck...classy. Fear for my life everytime I tune it incase the bridge swings off again and smacks me in the face! Such a shame cause she's sooo purdy.
