Hybrid series is one of several lines of electric guitars in Michael Kelly Guitars catalog. It is based upon the legendary Les Paul double-cut design. This series is not as big as the Patriot line, but it offers high quality models. Hourglass Limited Spalted Flame Maple Top is a limited edition guitar from this series and it features the solid, double-cut body with carved top construction. Body of this six-string axe is made of mahogany back with spalted flamed maple top. It`s flamed and spalted maple top is one of the most attractive tops found in Michael Kelly catalog. Tremolo bridge on the top is fronted by a pair of zebra-coiled humbucker pickups. Standard-shaped mahogany neck is set in and it`s topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.

Has solid Mahogany body, set neck, and nice pickups. The one I bought had only 2 knobs that were push-pull for volume and tone one each pickup. I wasn't wild about not being able to adjust both so i added a third knob and used 2 standard knobs as volume for bridge and neck and then wired the push-pull as a tome pot for coil tapping. I can get ANY sound I want form it now. Fender Strat to Gibson Les Paul This thing was awesome out of the box. The mahogany body has tone even without power (The sign of a truly well made instrument!) Get one and you might not play anything else. This guitar is in the middle hundreds of dollars and plays like a Gibson worth thousands. Save your money for beer and women and buy this guitar instead! Overall, except for the change in potentiometers, this is now my "go to " axe. I even play it more than my REAL fender tele with Semour duncans in it. (Don't get me wrong... I still LOVE my tele, but this one is now more versitile and so gets more attention)
