Normandy is one of the most interesting brands on the guitar market, as they`ve turned the entire concept of guitar building upside-down. First of all, mahogany, maple, alder and basswood are completely kicked out of the list of body materials. Wood is completely replaced by lightweight aluminum.Despite their overall vintage styling, Normandy models are actually very modern axes. Aluminum is denser than wood, which gives better sustain and brighter tone. Pickups on Normandy guitars are developed and made by the company, as no other pickups matched their vision. Normandy V has a vintage-styled V body and two Normandy humbucking pickups installed on the top. Behind the pickups, there`s a classic two-piece bridge section. Maple neck and 22-fret rosewood fingerboard are the only major parts made of wood.
