Vernon Reid`s Signature model is named MaxxFly DF824VR and it features a set of upscale appointments. This one comes with a modified Fly body, set in neck, 25-1/2" scale, Grover tuners and 24-fret fingerboard. Pickups on this model are made by EMG. The modern and ferocious 81 X is featured in the bridge position, while the 81 SAX are installed in the middle nad neck positions. Additional electronics include the MIDI pickup from Roland and belonging set of controls. There is no piezo pickup under the bridge. Instead, the bridge section is equipped with an original Floyd Rose double-locking tremolo bridge. It is painted in black, like the rest of the hardware. Poplar neck is set in and it is topped with a 22-fret fingerboard made of composite materials.
