Custom 22 Artist from the Special Edition series is one of the finest examples of PRS quality of build and tone. Only the top quality materials are being used for this model. Standard double-cut body is made of top-grade mahogany back and flamed maple top. Back in the beginning, before he founded the PRS company, Paul Reed Smith used to make all-mahogany bodies. In 1980, he made his first guitar with carved maple top. Ever since, PRS guitars have standard carved maple tops. This one is made of flamed maple and it`s bound in creme binding. Gold-plated tremolo bridge on this model is fronted by a pair of Dragon II humbucking pickups. Set in mahogany neck is topped with a standard 22-fret fingerboard made of ebony.
