Ted McCarty was one of the greatest contributors to the development of the electric guitar in it`s early days. He was the president of Gibson Guitars from 1950 to 1966, company`s most productive, innovative and popular period. Paul Reed Smith cites Mr McCarty as the key influence in his guitar-building career. In 1994 PRS Guitars have launched a line of models named after Mr McCarty, the first guitars ever to bear his name. Ted McCarty DC 245 is a double-cut guitar with solid mahogany body with flame maple cap on top. Creme binding, gloss finish and nickel-plated hardware decorate the body. Wrap around bridge is fronted by a pair of active humbucking pickups. The set in mahogany neck is topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
