Manta Ray 290 is an all-solid semi-hollow six-stringer with active Reverend pickups and classic design. Body of this six-stringer bears similarities with the classic SG and even more with vintage Rickenbacker models. It is made of korina back, sides and center block with a flamed maple top. Back, sides and center block are made of a single piece of korina, while the flamed top is made of two matching pieces of solid flamed maple. As for the color palette, Reverend offers only one option, Turquoise Flame Maple with gloss finish and chrome-plated hardware. Two-piece bridge unit has a tune-o-matic bridge and a stoptail bar in the back (a classic bridge option, characteristic for 24-3/4" scaled guitars). Pickups in the bridge and neck positions are Reverend`s CP90 single coils. These two offer an abundance of sustain and power, while still being able to purr like kittens if need be. Master volume, master tone and a three-way toggle pickup switch comprise the controls unit. Three-piece korina neck rocks the medium oval contour in the back (a standard contour for Reverend models) and a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on the top.
