Jake Pitts of the Black Veil Brides is among the young guns of the Schecter signature tribe. His jaw-dropping chops on the band`s four albums have, finally, landed him a signature Schecter in 2014. For 2015, Jake Pitts C-1 FR comes with a slightly updated specs list. So, without further ado, let`s skip over to the review. This mighty C-1 FR has retained its distinctive styling and the cool Metallic Black Burst cloak over the mahogany back and carved top. Multi-ply white binding and black chrome hardware grace the top. The first of several updates is found in the bridge section where the Floyd Rose Original is replaced by Floyd Rose 1500 bridge. Next in line is the pickups combo which has changed from the classic EMG81/85 combo to a double 81 set (set popularized by Kirk Hammett of Metallica) for a more aggressive and biting sound. Simple controls unit installed along with the pickups consists of master volume, master tone and a three-way toggle pickup switch. Three-piece mahogany neck is kept from the last year`s model, while the 24-fret fingerboard is now being made of ebony (instead of rosewood). Offset dot inlays, locking string nut and Grover tuners are also being kept from the previous model.
