Back in the late 1980s, then unknown boy named Jeff Loomis auditioned for a vacant lead guitarist spot in Megadeth. He didn`t get the gig, mostly due to his age, but Dave Mustaine predicted that the young and talented Loomis would become a world-wide superstar. Some twenty five years later, the prophecy is coming true and being fulfilled. For quite some years, Jeff has been one of the most popular and important signature artists in the Schecter catalog. For 2014, his signature series is being updated with four brand new models and JL-7 is only one of them. Standard C-7 body is made of swamp ash, instead of mahogany (Schecter`s standard tonewood) and it`s paired with a maple/walnut neck through the comfortable set in joint with ultra access. On the top of the beautifully carved body, Schecter installs a hardtail bridge with string-through-body construction. Pickups on the top are EMG 57-7 in the bridge and 66-7 in the neck position. Master volume and a three-way toggle pickup switch comprise the controls. Maple nad walnut neck is fast, slim and 1.8" wide at the nut (JL-7 rocks the standard TUSQ nut). 24-fret fingerboard is made with extra jumbo frets, 16" radius and a 1.89" wide TUSQ nut.
