Master Series Electric Guitars by Squier by Fender
In 2007, Fender (through Squier) made what could be thought of their most peculiar series of electric guitars up to date. It was the little known Master series and M-80 was one of it`s models. M-80 completely parted with Fender traditions and standards, introducing a streamlined body with beveled top and a double cutaway reminiscent of Gibson`s SG and Schecter`s famous Tempest. Maple neck was discarded in favor of a thick mahogany neck with set in joint. Two-piece bridge unit had a tune-o-matic (adjust-o-matic) bridge and a stoptail bar. In the front, the Duncan Designed humbuckers had an SG-like set of controls. Further similarities with Gibson school include 24-3/4" scale, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with block inlays and three-a-side arrangement of the tuners on the headstock.
