Sterling is a budget-oriented sub-brand in Music Man`s catalog. It offers affordable variants of standard models from Music Man catalog. The AX series has solid double-cut guitars with classic Music Man design. AX40 is the top model of the series and it offers the basswood body with quilted maple top. Top is slightly carved and it features elegant binding around the edges. Transparent Gold, Transparent Blue and Transparent Red are color options available for AX40. They`re all finished in gloss and have chrome-plated hardware. Bridge section on AX40 is the series standard double-locking Floyd Rose bridge. In it `s front, Music man installs a pair of zebra-coiled humbuckers. The asymmetrical neck is made of maple and it features the standard 22-fret maple fingerboard on it`s top.
