Washburn is one of top names when it comes to acoustics and hollow-bodies. 2012 NAMM Show saw a few novelties for the hollow-body section of the catalog with HB-17 and HB-36 Vintage. HB-36 Vintage is an exceptional example of a vintage jazz guitar, it starts off with a body made of maple back and sides in combination with a spruce top. Both the back and top edge are bound in multi-layer creme binding. The top also features two "f" holes bound in matching binding and a raised triple-layer black pickguard. HB-36 comes only in vintage sunburst color with gloss finish. The bridge is a tune-o-matic with a stoptail bar and distressed gold plating. In the pickups department, there are two active humbuckers, one in the bridge and one in the neck position. They are controlled through split volume and tone knobs and a three-way toggle switch. The neck is made of maple and attached to the body with a set-in joint. The fingerboard is made of ebony and sports 20 frets with block position inlays and 1-11/16" wide string nut. Grover Rotomatic tuners with 18:1 gear ratio complete the list of specs for this model.
