WV 40 is a model from the HM series in Washburn catalog. HM series deals with strictly metal-oriented axes and currently has six models. One of them is the V-shaped WV 40. It comes with a modified V body. It`s flat on top and it`s made of mahogany. WV 40 has set in neck joint, 25-1/2" scale and Grover tuners on the headstock. Body of this model is available in White and Black color options. White has black bevels, while the other one has red. Both variants, however, feature black hardware. Tune-o-matic bridge is paired with the stoptail bar and fronted by a pair of passive Randall pickups. Set in mahogany neck has ultra thin contour in the back and 24-fret phenolic fingerboard on the top.

I have the red WV40 with the Randall UL and XL pickups. Phelonic fretboard, set neck, Abalone star inlays, grover 18-1 tuners Bought from a local shop already setup and fined tuned to my specs at purchase. I use i live frequently and on several occasions without a backup and it has been dependable and rock solid every time I bought it new from a local shop for $200 under sticker. If it were ever lost or sotlen I would definitely replace it with an exact same model, I would even pay full sticker price where I bought it. I love this axe. I play several different style of music but mainly progressive metal and this is a metal guitar, no questions asked. I love the offset V shape and the few subtlw curve differences that set this apart from the other Randy Rhoads clones are a big plus to me. I have had NO problems with this guitar and I have used it and used it HARD for almost 2 years now. Other than the initial set up and the regular string change, maintenence has been very easy, no major needs have arose. For the price range this instrument is in it is a terrific buy. I would pay even 100-200$ more than what I did for it. Some people hate the body style and trash this guitar in reviews because of that, but I can't say anything bad about it. If I had to find one fault with it, the only one I can think of is that I wished this bad boy was available in Blue..
