Mike Stern is among the leading jazz and fusion guitar players on the American scene. Throughout almost 40 years of his career, Mike has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the music industry, played on landmark albums and created some of the most memorable tunes. For 2013, Yamaha is updating their iconic Pacifica series with a PAC1611MS guitar, which is the signature model made by Mike`s specs. This marvelous six-stringer features Telecaster-shaped body with solid construction and bolt-on neck joint. It is made of ash wood. The only color option available for Mike Stern`s signature model is natural. It comes with high gloss finish and chrome-plated hardware. Bridge on this model is pretty similar to the classic Telecaster bridge with the metal plate in the front. Instead of having three saddles, like the vintage Telecasters, PAC1611MS has six adjustable saddles. In front of the bridge, Yamaha installs a pair of Seymour Duncan pickups. Bridge position is reserved for Seymour Duncan Hot Rails and the neck position features the '59 humbucker with zebra coils. master volume, master tone and three-position blade switch comprise the controls unit. Bolt-on maple neck is topped with a 22-fret fingerboard made of maple. Dot inlays and 7-1/4" radius complete the fingerboard specs.
