In support of Chris Cornell`s new solo album, Songbook, Fender is giving away one autographed Classic Series '60s Telecaster.
Chris Cornell, best known as the former lead vocalist of Soundgarden and Audioslave is also a successful solo artist. Songbook is his fourth studio effort and this time it is fully acoustic album which consists mostly of original songs and a couple of covers. In support of the release Chris joins forces with Fender for a promotional giveaway. The giveaway is conducted through a contest on Fender`s web site and the main prize is autographed Fender Classic Series '60s Telecaster. The winner also gets an autographed copy of the album. Twenty more lucky participants will get an autographed copy of the cd and every entrant gets a free download of a bonus song from the Songbook titled "As Hope and Promise Fade. And now, a word or two on the main prize. The winner of the contest gets a Fender Classic Series '60s Telecaster autographed by Chris himself. Classic Series '60s Telecaster starts off with a solid alder body with a single cutaway and a flat top. It comes in black, candy apple red and Olympic white color options with polyurethane gloss finish on all of them. The neck on this model is a well known C-shaped bolt-on made of a single piece of maple and finished in urethane gloss. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and features 21 vintage styled frets with vintage ivory dots and 1.65" wide nut. The scale is Fender`s trademark 25-1/2" long and the fingerboard radius measures at 7.25 inches.
The bridge on Classic Series '60s Telecaster is an original vintage style Tele bridge 3 threaded steel saddles. The pickup combo is also a classic one and consists of the time accurate vintage styled single coil Tele bridge pickup and vintage styled single coil Tele neck pickup. The bridge pickup is slanted and encompassed by the bridge plate. These pickups are controlled through a master volume and master tone knobs, and a three position blade switch. Also a classic Telecaster appointment.
Other features on Classic Series '60s Telecaster include: chrome plated hardware, synthetic bone nut, "top hat" style switch tip, .10 gauge Fender USA Super 250R strings, aged knobs and switch tip, and a white, classically shaped pickguard. The MSRP for this model is set at $999.
