Luna Guitars are giving away one of their fantastic guitars every month to a lucky member of their tribetalk newsletter community. All of the members are automatic participants and the winner is usually picked around the fifteenth of the month. This month`s winner has been already picked and the next round starts. This round`s winner will be decided around November the fifteenth. This lucky dog will be awarded Luna Guitars` acoustic guitar from their Americana Series, the beautifully decorated AMT100.
Luna Guitars AMT100 is a sight for sore eyes with it`s spacious and masterfully carved dreadnought body made of a spruce top and mahogany back and sides. Luna Guitars` luthiers make sure all parts are produced and built with meticulous precision and are aesthetically fitting the overall look of the instrument, and for this model natural choice for the bridge was this superb piece of ebony. The pickguard on this beauty is a story within a story. The inspiration for this elaborate leather pickguard came from the Spanish Moor, central American Aztec and "Wild West" traditions of extensive use of carved leather ornaments. Big piece of dark brown leather has a unique shape stretching from the fingerboard, encompasses the sound hole and extends all the way below the bridge. It is hand carved and represents the spirit of freedom and individuality which is as important part of Luna`s guitars as the tonewoods and hardware.
Sound hole and simple rosette balance out the mesmerizing pickguard in a very subtle yet effective way. Neck on Luna Guitars AMT100 made of high quality mahogany and features a dovetail joint. Smooth shape and finish give players necessary grip for the chords, but also allow the freedom of easy movement for all the solo bits and parts. Ebony fingerboard sports 20 frets and Luna Guitars` signature moon phase inlays. Delicate and intricate pattern starts with a small, almost shy crescent moon on the third fret and it grows to it`s full size on the twelfth fret just to decline and fade to the crescent moon once more on the nineteenth fret.
Other features on Luna Guitars AMT100 include chrome hardware and chrome plated tuners which are set three-a-side on an elegantly shaped black headstock. The headstock also features Luna Guitars` logo between the tuning machines. The top of the body of this beauty is bound in wood binding. Scale length is acoustic guitar standard, 25-1/2" with a 1.6252" nut width. All is wrapped with a touch of gloss finish. Amplification is another important aspect of this guitar and Luna Guitars` builders decided to go with a b-band electret transducer and a preamp.
