Signed Classic Player Jazzmaster Special and Blacktop Jazzmaster HS are the main prizes in this contest. Both of them were played by Sonic Youth guitarists on stage.
Fender and Sonic Youth team up to bring this exciting competition in which two lucky winners will each get one of the Jazzmaster guitars played on stage by Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo. Both the Blacktop Jazzmaster HS and Classic Player Jazzmaster Special are signed by all of the members of Sonic Youth. Because some of the signatures are placed on the pickguard protective films, Fender supplies additional replacement pickguards. Participants from United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Mexico, Spain, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland are eligible to enter the contest. Alder is the material for the flat and solid body. Renowned Fender`s philosophy of functionality applies on this Jazzmaster as well, for it features bare rock necessities. Adjust-o-matic bridge is paired with a vintage-styled floating tremolo. Pickups are versatile and strong to take on any style player desires to explore. Neck is a standard Fender feature, it is made of maple and equipped with C contour. Rosewood fingerboard comes with 21 medium jumbo frets, dot position inlays and 1.65" wide synthetic bone nut. Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster Special is a part of the series which is oriented towards the players who like a bit stronger vintage feel than the Blacktop series offers. This Jazzmaster comes with two single coil pickups and elaborate electronics setup. Master volume and tone are accompanied by volume and tone controls for both pickups. This Jazzmaster also features adjust-o-matic/vintage floating tremolo combo in bridge section. The neck is made of maple and it is bolted to the body.
