Four new models arrive for 2012. Three SE guitars and one Solid Body series P22 with an under-saddle piezo pickup.
2012 brings us four novelties from PRS electric guitar department. Three of them are placed in the famous SE Series, and their names are: SE Singlecut Korina, SE Korina One and SE Custom 24 2012. But the spotlights go to a wonderful new P22 which is the first solid bodied PRS to feature a piezo pickup under the saddle. SE and Solid Body series models are among the most important ones in the entire PRS catalog and maintaining and constantly upgrading it is a must.
PRS SE Korina One is a brand new 2012 model reminiscent of the old LP junior models. This model is based upon the "no frills" philosophy, where every thing built onto the guitar has to have a purpose in improving the tone of the instrument. It is made of korina body and korina neck with the vintage amber being the only color available. Rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets, PRS hardware and a P-90 styled single coil pickup give this instrument great playability and a strong tone. PRS SE Singlecut Korina is an upscale version of Korina One, and features two humbucking pickups instead of one single coil. This model is also made with bare necessities and requirements, all streamlined towards efficiency and great tone. single cutaway body and neck are made of korina and paired with PRS hardware and pickups. SE treble and SE Bass humbuckers occupy the bridge and neck positions. respectively. 22 fret rosewood fingerboard wraps it up for this model. PRS SE Custom 24 2012 is an homage to a previous Custom 24 made some 25-30 years ago. This new Custom 24 has a body made of mahogany back and flame maple veneer top. They are paired with a wide thin contoured maple neck. The neck is equipped with 24 fret rosewood fingerboard. PRS SE HFS Treble humbucker sits in the bridge and SE Vintage Bass is in the neck position. PRS Tremolo bridge is the icing on this wonderful cake. PRS P22 is the crown jewel of this year`s novelties, as it is the first solid bodied PRS ever to feature an under-saddle piezo pickup in addition to a standard setup of two humbuckers. Mahogany body is topped with a carved flame maple veneer and available in a multitude of gloss finished colors. Regular humbuckers on this model are made by PRS, as is the rest of the nickel plated hardware. 22 fret rosewood fingerboard sits upon the mahogany neck with a modern pattern contour.
