Exquisite electric guitars and basses are being introduced with the new lineup of Custom Collection series by Fender Custom Shop.
Fender`s Custom Shop department is in charge of the very special segment of the catalog. It is the section where time does not flow in a usual manner. It can be reversed and fast-forwarded as the luthiers of the shop desire, thus bringing some of the most amazing pieces of history, which are actually produced today. The ability of the Custom Shop artisans and craftsmen to replicate the looks and tone of the past Fender models is unmatched in the industry. This year`s Custom Collection is a line of marvelously made guitars and basses. There`s a total of ten models, eight guitars and two basses. Guitars are: 2013 Custom Deluxe Stratocaster, 1956 Relic Stratocaster, 2013 Closet Classic Stratocaster Pro, 1959 Relic Esquire, 2013 Custom Deluxe Telecaster, 1972 Closet Classic Telecaster Custom, 1952 Relic Telecaster and 2013 Closet Classic Telecaster Pro. Bass section includes: 2013 Closet Classic Precision Bass Pro and 1951 Relic Precision Bass.
Fender Custom Shop 2013 Custom Deluxe Stratocaster is a solid, double-cut guitar with a flat-top body made of okume mahogany. It is topped with a book-matched flamed maple top and a plastic pickguard. Tremolo bridge is synchronized and equipped with string-through construction. Pickups are Custom Shop '50s Fat Strat single coils in all three positions. Classic controls unit is featured on this one. Maple neck is made with C contour in the back and a 22-fret fingerboard on top. It can be made of both the rosewood and maple. Fender Custom Shop 2013 Custom Collection 1956 Relic Stratocaster is the Relic variant of one of the first Strats ever made. This one comes with ash body and maple neck. Body sports the age-correct body contour and '50s Fat Strat pickups in classic S/S/S configuration. Bridge is a vintage-styled tremolo and V-contoured neck is bolted to the body. Fingerboard on this model is equipped with 21 medium jumbo frets and dot position markers. Aged Lake Placid Blue, Melon Candy and Candy Tangerine are color options assigned to this gorgeous Strat. Fender Custom Shop 2013 Closet Classic Stratocaster Pro is the third and final Stratocaster model in this series. It features a mix of modern and vintage appointments to suit the modern players who like a pinch of vintage in guitar`s looks and tone. This model has a double-cut ash body in combination with bolt-on maple neck. Body is solid, flat on the top and finished in nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Custom Shop '50s Fat Strat pickups are installed on this one. Bridge is the vintage-styled tremolo with string-through construction. 22-fret fingerboard is made of both the maple and rosewood. Fender Custom Shop 2013 Custom Collection 1959 Relic Esquire is one of five Telecaster-shaped models in Custom Collection series roster for 2013. Esquire is basically a Telecaster with only a bridge single coil pickup. Pickup on this one is a Twisted Tele bridge pickup. Body is made of alder, it`s single cut and paired with a bolt-on maple neck. Neck is topped with a rosewood fingerboard with 21 medium jumbo frets and dot inlays. Fender Custom Shop 2013 Custom Deluxe Telecaster is a sibling model to the Custom Deluxe Strat and these two feature largely similar specs lists. Thus, this model comes with an ash body with flamed maple top. Top is bookmatched and finished in high gloss. RSD bridge is fronted with a pair of Twisted Tele single coil pickups. Master volume, master tone and a three-position blade switch comprise the controls unit. Maple neck is bolted to the body and topped with a 22-fret fingerboard. Fender Custom Shop 2013 Custom Collection 1972 Closet Classic Telecaster Custom is one of two Closet Custom Teles in this series. This one is dedicated to the legendary 1972 model, known for more Les Paul-like concept. Lightweight ash body is solid, single-cut and equipped with a bolt-on neck joint. Tele bridge has string-through construction and it`s fronted with S/H combo of pickups. Pickups have separate volume and tone knobs with a three-way toggle pickup switch to wrap the controls unit. Maple neck has U contour in the back and a 21-fret maple fingerboard on top. Fender Custom Shop 2013 Custom Collection 1952 Relic Telecaster is a relic model based on one of the first stable Telecaster variants. It features numerous period correct appointments, as well as aged hardware and paint. It comes with a solid, single-cut body made of lightweight ash. It is paired with a one-piece maple neck with V contour in the back and 21 medium jumbo frets on the top. Twisted Tele pickups are featured on this model and are backed by standard Telecaster controls unit. Bridge is a classic Tele bridge with tray in the front and three string saddles in the back. Fender Custom Shop 2013 Custom Collection Closet Classic Telecaster Pro is the final Tele in this series introduced for 2013. It comes with a solid, single-cut ash body with flat top and gloss finish. Bridge is made by Research Special Division. It is very similar to the classic Tele bridge, it has three saddles and a tray in the front. Twisted Tele pickups feature a standard controls unit with Greasebucket tone circuit. Maple neck is equipped with C contour in the back and a 22-fret fingerboard on top. Fingerboard comes in rosewood and maple variants. Fender Custom Shop 2013 Custom Collection Closet Classic Precision Bass Pro is one of two basses introduced into the series. The other bass is also a Precision Bass. This one comes with a vintage-styled double-cut body made of top shelf alder. It is paired with a bolt-on maple neck. Bridge is fixed and it features four saddles with top-load construction. In it`s front Fender installs a set of Seymour Duncan pickups. Bridge pickup is single-coil and the middle one is a P pickup. Maple neck on this model is equipped with a C contour and topped with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard. Fender Custom Shop 2013 Custom Collection 1951 Relic Precision Bass is the second of two P basses and also the last of ten models introduced into this series. It is a relic variant of the 1951 Precision Bass. Ash body has double cut contour and is completely flat. Bridge is fixed on this one and it`s also covered. Pickup is made by Seymour Duncan, it`s installed in middle position and it`s covered just like the bridge. Neck on this P Bass is made of a single piece of maple and it sports 20 medium jumbo frets on the top. Frets are marked with black dot inlays.
