2014 is a very important year in the Gibson Guitars calendar, as it marks the 120 years since the company was founded. In order to properly mark this fantastic achievement, Gibson has decided to completely overhaul the 2013 lineup and offer some of the best guitars with Gibson`s badge ever made. Only Les Paul department has received thirteen updates. Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker is the new entry model, while the Les Paul J and Les Paul M form the basic tier along with it. Les Paul Studio, Les Paul Futura and Les Paul Studio Pro are found in the lower intermediate section of the line. Les Paul Classic, Les Paul Signature, Les Paul Traditional and Les Paul Peace are vintage-styled options for players who prefer the 1950s and 1960s Les Paul style. On the top, there are three Les Paul Standard variants. Les Paul Standard is the basic model of the Standard tier, Les Paul Standard Plus is the intermediate option, while the Les Paul Standard Premium is the admiral of the 2014 Les Paul fleet.
Gibson 2014 Les Paul Melody Maker is the new basic model of the Les Paul range for 2014. It rocks a solid and single-cut mahogany body and a set in maple neck. First, the top is made of AAAA flamed maple, instead of the AAA grade maple and the second is the choice of tuners.
