Aria Guitars pay tribute to the late Cliff Burton with a brand new SB-CB bass. Legendary musician and legendary instrument are being honored with this 2013 novelty.
Aria Guitars is one of the largest and most important brands coming from the land of the rising sun. Their instruments have rocked stages all over the world and have been played by millions upon millions guitarists and bassists, both pros and amateurs. There`s not a single sub-genre of blues, rock and metal where you won`t find some of the distinguished Aria players. Back in the 1980s numerous famous players used Aria`s instruments, but one stood out from the crowd, the Bay Area four-string wizard who went by the name of Cliff Burton. Late Cliff loved his Aria bass and has created some of his most memorable lines on it. Back then, Cliff and his bass were a dangerous duo able to annihilate entire bands. Today, more than 25 years after his untimely death Aria introduces SB-CB model, a bass dedicated to him. This fearsome four-stringer looks and sounds every little bit tight and cool, as the Cliff`s 1980s bass did.
Aria SB-CB is a solid, double-cut bass with body made of alder. Simple construction and design are completely in the function of the skull-crushing tone. Thus, SB-CB does not feature any excessive decorations, nor it features top wood covers. Bridge is fixed and strings run all the way through the body. Bridge humbucker is the only pickup and it features an elaborate controls unit. Seven pieces of maple nad walnut comprise the neck. There`s no heel on this set-in neck. 24-fret fingerboard is made of ebony and it features cat eye inlays. Black is the only color option available for this beast and it comes with high gloss finish.
