With a hybrid LP/Strat construction and exclusive tonewood selection, new Luke III BFR brings the ultimate in elegance, tone and construction quality.
With almost four decades of professional career and immense experience under the belt, Steve Lukather of Toto is Music Man`s number one signature artist. With previous two signature models (one of them was also a BFR model), Steve and Music man have achieved great success over the past years. Now, they join their forces for the third time, and the result is the stunning Luke III BFR, a beautiful guitar with a stunning tone, and supreme build quality. The BFR mark on its headstock stands for Ball Family Reserve, which means that the Luke III is made of the best tonewoods available to the Ernie Ball company. Of course, this kind of a guitar doesn`t come cheap, not with all the exclusive materials, electronics and hardware Luke III proudly boasts. The official recommended price for this elite six-stringer is set at $4,050 for all standard variants and options.
Music Man Luke III BFR, in Steve Lukather`s own words, comes as a mix between two of the most popular electric guitar concepts – Les Paul and Stratocaster. Luke III comes with a solid and double-cut body with pronounced cutaway horns and a bolt-on neck joint. Back of the body is made of alder wings and mahogany tone block in the center. On top, there is a two-piece maple cap (flamed maple). There are five color options: Hazel Burst, Blueberry Burst, Trans Black, Ruby Red Burst and Bahama Blue Burst. The first two come with a pair of DiMarzio humbuckers, while the latter three have the classic Superstrat H/S/S combo (DiMarzio).
