Edge series has received three EMG-powered updates, John Entwistle and Jeff Berlin signature series got expanded. Zone Series receives one new model.
Dean Guitars were one of the busiest brands over the winter. There was no rest and Dean Guitars went to NAMM with over eighty new models. Around sixty went to electric guitar section. Thirteen models were introduced into the acoustic department and three models reinforced the Bluegrass series. Finally, six models were introduced into the electric bass section. Three models comprise the newly established Edge EMG line: Edge 4 String with EMG, Edge 5 String with EMG and Edge 6 String with EMG. Jeff Berlin signature series received USA Jeff Berlin Basic and John Entwistle series has been updated with Hybrid 5-String. Zone Bass four-stringer was introduced into the Zone series.
Dean John Entwistle Hybrid 5-String is one of two signature models introduced into the catalog this winter and is the only one in the John Entwistle series. Classic single-cut body is made of alder and paired with maple neck. Neck is bolted to the body and features C contour in the back. 22-fret maple fingerboard is installed on the top. Dean USA Jeff Berlin Basic is the only update Jeff`s signature series has received this year. It is a basic four-stringer with flat, double-cut body made of alder. Natural oil is the only color scheme available. Neck on this model is made of maple and it features special Jeff Berlin contour in the back. 21-fret fingerboard is made of rosewood and features abalone dot inlays. Dean Edge 4 with EMG is the first of three Edge basses with EMG pickups introduced into the catalog this January. It comes with a modern double-cut body made of basswood. Neck of this four-stringer is made of maple. It`s bolted to the body and equipped with C contour. 24-fret fingerboard is made of rosewood. EMG pickups come in H/H configuration. Dean Edge 5 with EMG is the five-string variant and the second of three new Edge basses introduced at this year`s NAMM show. Solid, double-cut body of this bass is made of basswood and paired with a bolted maple neck. C-contoured neck is topped with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard. Dean Edge 6 with EMG is the third and final model introduced into the Edge series this time. It has very similar specs to Edge 4 and 5, with the biggest difference being the string count and pickups model. Instead of 35P4 and 40P5, Edge 6 with EMG has 45P6 active pickups. Body of this model is made of basswood and it`s paired with a maple neck with C contour. 24-fret rosewood fingerboard is found on this Edge, as well. Dean Zone Bass is the basic bass model introduced into the Zone series. It features a solid, double-cut body made of basswood. It`s paired with a C-contoured maple neck. On top of the neck, Dean installs a 22-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. There`s only one pickup installed on this model, a DMT pickup in middle position.
