Gibson USA Les Paul 60th Anniversary Limited and Gibson Custom '59 Les Paul Factory Burst are hitting the stage with very limited numbers and unbelievable level of historical accuracy.
Gibson`s Les Paul model is one of the most successful guitars ever and also one of the icons of 20th century industrial design. Since it`s inception in 1952, Les Paul ruled supreme with very few worthy rivals and periods of stagnation. This beloved and revered single cut has reached it`s 60th birthday, and it looks better than ever. During these sixty years legions of enthusiasts and devotees have collected, studied and researched specific models from Les Paul history and, naturally some favorites rose above the rest of the pack. Besides the original 1952 models, late 1950s LPs are considered as the most popular and sought after. To satisfy the fans of both eras and their respective models, Gibson has issued two brand new vintage-styled models. The first is 60th Anniversary Limited Les Paul from Gibson USA and the second is 1959 Les Paul Factory Burst by Gibson Custom.
Gibson Les Paul 60th Anniversary Limited is a model made by Gibson USA and it celebrates the legacy of the very first Les Paul made in 1952. By looking at this model, one can conclude that the level of accuracy and detail is remarkably high and does the original justice. Mahogany body has no weight reliefs and it`s topped with carved maple top. Goldtop is the only color option available. Wrap around bridge is paired with trapezoid tailpiece and it features the greatest difference. This time strings are wrapped from the top, while on the original they were wound from below. Pair of P-90 soapbar pickups produces big, fat tone, very precisely recreating the sound of early LPs. Neck is made of mahogany and it sports a thick contour. Rosewood fingerboard has 22 frets with trappezoid inlays, 12" radius and 1.695" corian nut. The MSRP is set at $3,899. Gibson Custom 1959 Les Paul Factory Burst is one of the most luxurious and historically precise models ever made. It is a tribute and recreation of Les Paul`s most sought after incarnation, the 1959 model. Mahogany body is solid and made of mahogany. It sports a bound and carved figured maple top. Bridge section contains tune-o-matic bridge and stop tail bar in the back. Cherry Burst variant comes with 100 copies and '57 Classic Zebra Coil humbuckers. Dark Burst also has 100 copies and it`s equipped with Custom Buckers in the bridge and neck positions. Neck for this model is made of mahogany and it sports original '59 contour. Fingerboard is made of rosewood with 22 frets. Trapezoid inlays, 12" radius and 1.687" wide string nut complete the fingerboard. The MSRP is set at $9,174 for both color options.
