This time around, it`s all about the top of the class, the super-exclusive Collector`s Choice series. This is a line of limited edition replica and tribute models made based on the requests of the Gibson Custom collectors and afficionados. Each and every model in this super expensive series is a perfectly accurate recreation of one of many legendary LP models from the past. Usually, some of the surviving specimens are taken into the Gibson Custom workshop and are thoroughly measured and examined for the best results. Thus far, a lot of models based on the 1950s and 1960s legendary axes have paraded through the Collector`s Choice series roster and for the summer of 2014, Gibson Custom has prepared a double treat for all the LP lovers out there. Collector`s Choice #12 1957 Les Paul Goldtop and Collector`s Choice #28 1958 Les Paul STP Burst are the newcomers.
Gibson Custom Collector`s Choice #12 1957 Les Paul Goldtop comes with a solid and single-cut body made of a single piece of mahogany in the back and a two-piece plain maple cap on top. Marvelous Custom Bucker pickups with the classic controls unit, glued in mahogany neck and a 22-fret Indian rosewood fingerboard are also featured on this model. Gibson Custom Collector`s Choice #28 1958 Les Paul STP Burst is the second of two LP models being introduced into the Collector`s Choice series this summer. It is the most accurate replica of Ronnie Montrose`s 1958 Les Paul. It comes with a solid one-piece mahogany body, two-piece figured maple top, mahogany neck, active Custom Bucker pickups and vintage Kluson tuners.
