Epiphone unveils two new solid bodies, Les Paul Tribute Plus and Tak Matsumoto DC Standard Plus Top and a semi-hollow Wildkat Royale.
The Epiphone takes no rest and sails full steam ahead into the new year. Three new models are being represented, two solid bodies and one of Epi`s specialties, one semi-hollow. The solid body department got two new Les Paul models, one being a tribute to Les Paul himself and one being Tak Matsumoto`s signature model. Les Paul Tribute Plus and Tak Matsumoto DC Standard Plus Top are the names of these new models. Wildkat Royale reinforced the archtops line of the catalog. New, fresh and wisely combining tradition with modern appointments these models are sure to satisfy even the most demanding of the players.
Epiphone Les Paul Tribute Plus
Epiphone and Les Paul are names that have a long history between them. Les Paul, legendary guitar player and innovator was Epi Stathopoulos` friend and he utilized the Epiphone facilities on the 14th street in New York. He experimented in the factory after hours trying to make his dream of solid bodied electric guitar come true. And he managed to make his "log" in the factory back in 1941. He also designed the first Les Paul model and today, this new Les Paul Tribute Plus with it`s unique mix of traditional and modern features is a tribute directly to him.
Les Paul Tribute Plus has a solid mahogany body with a maple cap with flame maple veneer on top. It is finished in polyurethane gloss and bound in creme. Locktone tune-o-matic bridge is paired with a stoptail bar and coated in nickel. USA '57 Classic humbuckers are nearly identical replicas of Seth Lovers PAF pickups from the late 1950s with split volume and tone knobs and a three-way toggle switch. Tone knobs also feature push-pull coil splitting system. Neck is made of mahogany and offered with a choice between slim taper and modern asymmetrical shape. Rosewood fingerboard has 22 jumbo frets, mother of pearl trapezoid inlays and 1.68 PVC nut. This model is available in faded cherry sunburst, black cherry, midnight ebony, midnight sapphire and vintage sunburst. The MSRP is set at $1,332.

Epiphone Tak Matsumoto DC Standard Plus Top
Tak Matsumoto, a guitar legend both in the East and the West has made his work a bridge between two worlds and continues to show that the rock music is a universal language. This acclaimed and many time award winning musician finally got his own signature model and it is an outstanding Tak Matsumoto DC Standard Plus Top in beautiful cherry color with top shelf features modeled after his own spec. Tak`s signature model resides on the crossroads of the finest Les Paul tradition and ever more demanding currents of the modern times.
To start off, Tak Matsumoto DC Standard Plus Top has a solid mahogany body with a flame maple top and double cutaway. It is bound in black and finished in polyurethane gloss. Nickel plated Locktone tune-o-matic bridge is paired with a stoptail bar. Pickups on this model are zebra coiled Gibson USA BurstBuckers in both bridge and neck positions. They are controlled through a master tone, split volume knobs and a three-way toggle switch. Mahogany neck has a slim taper d contour. Rosewood fingerboard is equipped with 22 jumbo frets, abalone trapezoid inlays and 1.68" PVC nut. Other features include : 24-3/4" scale, nickel plated hardware and vintage tuners with tulip buttons. It is available only in cherry color. The MSRP is set at $1,525.

Epiphone Wildkat Royale
Since the 1930s and 1930s Epiphone has been the leader in the semi-hollow segment of the market. Their countless top notch models have prepared the ground for the new Wildkat Royale which breathes with rock and roll. Attractive, Reliable and made of high quality tonewoods and completely affordable, this model is bound for the top. It puts together the archtop design with solid body sustain in a rich Epiphone`s Royale wrapping which includes gold sparkle binding, pearl white color and gold plated hardware.
Wildkat Royale starts off with a mahogany body and center block and laminated maple top. It features two "f" holes on the top and is finished in polyurethane gloss. The bridge is Locktone tune-o-matic paired with a licensed Bigsby B70 vibrato and a trapezoid tailpiece. Pickup department consists of two P-90s with dog ear casing. They are controlled through master volume knob, separate volume knobs and a master tone knob. The pickup switch is a three-way toggle. The neck is made of mahogany and has a slim taper D shape. Rosewood fingerboard has 22 medium jumbo frets, dot inlays and 1.68" PVC nut. Other features include: Grover tuners, 24-3/4" scale and a 1/4" output jack. The MSRP is set at $748.
