ESP and LTD unveil a total of 20 new signature models for 2012. Fourteen electric guitars, one acoustic-electric and five electric basses are coming our way.
ESP and LTD tribe of signature artists has grown dramatically for 2012, as there are 20 new signature models. 14 artists have received new guitars and basses for this year`s edition of ESP and LTD catalogs. Many of the models feature variants with both ESP and LTD logos. Kirk Hammett, Jeff Hanneman, Richard Z Kruspe, Michael Wilton are just some of the biggest names on this list. With other signature artists these guys form what is probably the strongest signature artist lineup found under one brand.
ESP KH-DC and LTD KH-DC are brand new, Eclipse-based double cutaway signature models in Kirk Hammett line. Both models feature mahogany bodies with flamed maple caps in see-thru black cherry color. These guitars feature tune-o-matic bridges with stoptail bars. EMG81/60 is the pickup combo on these babies. Set necks, rosewood fingerboards with 22 frets and golden hardware wrap the specs for these models. LTD KH-25 is a model with which ESP and Kirk celebrate the 25th anniversary of Kirk`s loyalty to ESP guitars. This one is a model with bolted maple neck on a double cutaway alder body. Active ESP pickups are there instead of EMGs and the Floyd Rose bridge is from the special series. Rosewood fingerboard has 24 extra jumbo frets with skull and bones inlays. ESP Jeff Hanneman EC and LTD JH-600EC are new models for Slayer`s legendary guitarist, and are his first single cutaway signatures. Alder bodies are paired with maple necks via the neck-through joints. The main difference between these two models comes in electronics department. ESP variant has EMG SPC control knob, while the LTD has only master volume and master tone. 24 frets on ebony fingerboards, black hardware and Kahler tremolo bridges are common for both models. LTD Slayer 2012 is dedicated to Slayer`s milestone album South Of Heaven from 1988. With album cover-inspired artwork on the top of the alder body, this axe brings the hell`s fury right to the player`s fingers. Maple neck is bolted and equipped with 24 fret ebony fingerboard. ESP Rob Caggiano and LTD RC-600 are Horizon series-based pair of signature models for Anthrax guitarist. Both models come in see-thru purple finish on carved ash bodies. Frank Bello is the second Anthax member with new signature models from ESP and LTD for this year. These Precision-reminiscent basses feature alder bodies and maple necks with EMG active pickups. Rammstein`s lead guitarist Richard Z Kruspe is receiving RZK-II Burnt, a new signature model for 2012, and it is a single cutaway model with burnt color scheme. Floyd Rose bridge, EMG81 pickup in both the bridge and neck positions and 24 extra jumbo frets on rosewood fingerboard guarantee for one of the heaviest tones in metal music. ESP MW-DC1E is the first signature acoustic-electric guitar from ESP. It is made for Michael Wilton of Queensryche. DC1E kicks off with spalted maple body and mahogany neck. They are joined via the set-in joint. The electronics consist of B-band electret film transducer pickup and T-55 preamp with 4-band equalizer and on-board tuner. LTD AW-7 is the first of four signature models for the Tennessee based deathcore giants, Whitechapel. This model is made for Alex Wade and it brings us Soloist shape with mahogany body and flamed maple top. The neck is made of maple and features a thin U contour. DiMarzio D-Activator pickups are featured in both the neck and bridge positions on this guitar. Ben Savage has also got a LTD signature model this year, it is BS-7. This down-tuned axe comes with alder body and maple neck with neck-through-body joint. Flamed maple cap sits on top of the alder base and features see-thru black finish. DiMarzio humbuckers are combined with Floyd Rose 1000 series bridge and 24 fret maple fingerboard. Zach Householder completes the guitar section of Whitechapel and is also one of the newcomers to ESP signature family in 2012. His model is called ZH-7 and it features active EMG pickups with tune-o-matic bridge and string-through construction. The body is made of mahogany in combination with thin, U-contoured maple neck. Quilted maple top is carved and finished in see-thru black satin color. ebony fingerboard is equipped with 24 extra jumbo frets and block inlays. LTG GC-4 is the signature bass made for Gabe Crisp, Whitechapel`s bassist. This Viper bass is very reminiscent of legendary SG basses with it`s narrow and thin neck and devil`s horns cutaways.
