At the Summer NAMM 2014, many novelties have been introduced by virtually every brand of any significance on the US market. From all over the world, the manufacturers, both big and small, have displayed their finest and their best reinforcements for the second part of the 2014. ESP, as one of the most important and most dominant brands among hard rock and metal artists has revitalized and reinforced both the ESP and LTD sectors, while still maintaining the focus on metal-oriented instruments. In this article, three LTD adn two ESP models will be reviewed: LTD AJ-1, LTD Jeff Hannemann Tribute 2014 and LTD Ride the Lightning. ESP E-II Mystique FR and E-II Mystique QM/NT are added to the upscale E-II Mystique series.
ESP E-II Mystique FR is a solid and double-cut guitar with an upscale set of specs and features. It`s oriented towards the US market and to it`s metalheads. Double-cut body is completely made of mahogany, as is the thin set in neck. Floyd Rose bridge, Seymour Duncan humbuckers and a 24-fret ebony fingerboard are also featured on this one. ESP E-II Mystique QM/NT is very similar to the Mystique FR model, both have the same offset and double-cut mahogany bodies and mahogany necks. QM/NT also has a maple top and neck-through joint. ESP LTD AJ-1 is the first signature model ESP introduces for one of Britain`s most prolific shredders of today, Andy James. It is a brutal six-stringer with a solid and double-cut mahogany body and through-body maple neck. EMG57/66 pickups combo, fixed bridge and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard comprise the key features. ESP LTD Jeff Hannemann Tribute 2014 comes with a flat, double-cut alder body with urban camo paint and through-body maple neck. Kahler locking trem system, classic EMG 81/85 pickups combo and a 24-fret ebony fingerboard with custom Jeff Hannemann inlays are also featured. ESP LTD Ride the Lightning is a limited edition guitar dedicated to the 1984 Metallica album of the same name. This is a solid six-stringer with an alder body and a bolted maple neck. EMG 81 and 66 are the chosen amplification, while the maple neck is topped with a 24-fret ebony fingerboard with a custom Metallica inlay at the 12th fret.
