This year`s Taylor Limited Edition comes with three series and a total of sixteen beautiful guitars. Presentation is the most exclusive, Quilted Sapele is intermediate and Blackwood 400 most affordable.

Taylor Guitars have a beautiful tradition, every spring and autumn a brand new Limited Edition is issued. Often these editions contain more than one series of guitars with some exotic wood selection or some other intricate design feature. Besides that, it is a regular thing for Taylor luthiers to pick one of the standard series and give it a custom shop treatment for the seasonal Limiteds issue. Fall 2012 issue brings three elegant and luxurious series, Presentation is the most exclusive one, Quilted Sapele is intermediate and Blackwood 400 is the most affordable. PS14ce-FLTD and PS16ce-FLTD are models from Presentation series. DNce-FLTD, GAce-FLTD, GAce-N-FLTD, 12-Fret GCce-FLTD, GCce-N-FLTD, GSce-FLTD and Baritone-8-FLTD/S belong to the Quilted Sapele line. 410ce-FLTD, 412ce-FLTD, 412ce-N-FLTD, 414ce-FLTD, 414ce-N-FLTD, 416ce-FLTD and Baritone-8-FLTD/B are Blackwood 400 models.

Besides that, Taylor installs ebony binding and beautiful paua rosette. Quilted Sapele series is ranked below the Presentation and above Blackwood 400. It comes with seven models, three regular steel-stringers, two nylon-stringed guitars, one twelve-fret steel-stringer and one eight-string baritone with 27" scale. All models are acoustic-electric and have single cutaway design. Also, all of them feature Taylors Expression System electronics. The main trait of this series, however is quilted sapele, a rare and exclusive tone wood, which is found on back and side panels of all seven models. European spruce is used for sound boards. Blackwood 400 series is the most affordable of three lines introduced into Fall 2012 Limited Edition. It is envisioned by Taylor`s luthiers as the seasonal alternative to standard 400 series models. Just as Quilted Sapele, this one has seven guitars, four regular steel-stringers, two nylon stringers and one eight-string baritone with 27" scale. Blackwood is from the same family of trees as Hawaiian koa and these two share the same basic frame of tonal properties, but Tasmanian blackwood is not as scarce and exclusive. It is used for back and side panels and it`s combined with European spruce sound boards. European spruce has the strength of Adirondack spruce, but tonally leans toward cedar a little bit. Bridges are made of ebony and have TUSQ saddles. Taylor Expression system is used for amplification. Mahogany necks are topped with ebony fingerboards. frets on these models have rock maple dot inlays. Rock maple is used for body binding and sound hole rosette, as well. MSRP is uniform for all models, except the baritone. They cost $2,898, while the baritone costs $3.098.
