Five guitar and seven bass models with brand new Custom Shop pickups were unveiled at Fender`s booth at Frankfurt Musikmesse.
Fender`s American Standard Series is a standard-setting line of models for years now. The renewal of the line has been announced several times in past few years, and this year new and refreshed models finally arrive. All members of Fender`s big four are represented throughout these twelve models. There are three Strats: 2012 American Standard Stratocaster, 2012 American Standard Stratocaster Left Handed and 2012 American Standard Stratocaster HSS. Telecaster models are: 2012 American Standard Telecaster and 2012 American Standard Telecaster Left Handed. Fender 2012 American Standard Stratocaster comes with a standard Strat body made of alder and paired with maple neck. A multitude of color options for both rosewood and maple fingerboard variants are available. All are finished in gloss. The main trait of this new Strat are it`s pickup, they come from the Custom Shop. Fat '50s Strat single coils are placed in all three positions. Maple neck is equipped with a modern C contour and four-bolt joint. Rosewood and maple fingerboards have the same specs: 22 medium jumbo frets, dot inlays and 1.685" wide synthetic bone nut. Fender 2012 American Standard Stratocaster Left Handed comes with basically the same specs as the right-handed version. The same double cutaway alder body and maple neck are utilized on this model as on previous. Two-pint synchronized tremolo and signature plastic pickguard complete the top specs. Pickups are Fender Custom Shop Fat '50s Strat single coils on this one, as well. This lefty Strat has a narrower color palette than it`s right-handed counterpart.
